The Miss Teen Globe SA pageant, organised by Beyond 2000, was first held in 2000 as a preliminary to the Miss Teen Globe International pageant. The 2000 and 2001 winners went on to win the international title.
When the international pageant was put on hold after the September 11 terrorist attacks, the winner started competing at the World Miss Teen pageant. Three consecutive winners (2002-2004) were crowned World Miss Teen, and the 2005 winner competed at, and won, the Miss Teen Worldwide pageant in 2006.
The 2009 winner has just been crowned Miss Teen World.
