We have a very cute new Miss Earth SA. Her name is Chanel Grantham and, although she hails from Durban, she is currently a student at UCT. Does that count as having a winner from the Western Cape for once? I guess not.Chanel was crowned at a glittering event at Emperor's Palace in Johannesburg on Saturday 06 June. Her runners-up were Cherise Biagio, Maxzell Lerm and Mahlatse Mkhawana. She will compete at the Miss Earth pageant in the Philippines towards the end of the year.
Thankfully a rumour about the pageant being "fixed" proved to be a hoax.
