When Miss South Africa 1973, Shelley Latham, stepped onto the stage at the Royal Albert Hall for the finals of the Miss World 1973 pageant, very few people were aware of her traumatic visit to the hair stylists earlier in the day. Her "tint" went horribly wrong due to a chemical reaction between her hair and a new product being used by the stylist. Her gorgeous brunette locks turned shocking pink.The stylist hastily applied an instant colour to the tearful Shelley's pink hair and after an hour or so, her brunette hair was restored to it's former glory. The gorgeous Capetonian ended up in 5th place.
