Mister Earth is a worldwide search for young men who not only have a handsome face, well-toned physique and good communication skills, but are also environmentally conscious. The main objective of the pageant is to have its contestants actively promote and be involved in the preservation of the environment.
The winner of the Mr Surf pageant in April will also be awarded the Mister Earth SA title and will represent South Africa at the world final in Guatemala City in October. The pageant is open to men aged 20 to 28 who are at least 1,75m tall, and have never been married or fathered a child.
