Di-Anne Qoto was crowned Miss Port Elizabeth 2009 last night (April 17) at the Feather Market Centre in the city centre. Her runners-up were Esther Shaidi and Claudia Muniz.Elda van Vuuren and Maryke Ferreira were the other two contestants in the top five. 20 contestants (only 19 competed) out of more than a 100 entries were selected to compete at the pageant finals.
Di-Anne's prize package, valued at more than a quarter of a million rand, includes the use of a Chevrolet Aveo from General Motors South Africa for a year and a trip to Egypt from Uniglobe Bay Travel.
The Miss Port Elizabeth pageant has been organised by The Herald and Greenacres Shopping Centre since 1990. The full title is The Herald Greenacres Miss Port Elizabeth pageant.
